- So, maybe I get a little crazy by the time Spring rolls around ... winters last forever in Vermont. I went to the hardware store in Montpelier to purchase these nifty springs, and then I went to the grocery store to purchase the asparagus, and then I went to my garden to procure the daffodils, and then ... - I can explain. For years, people have been telling me I paint like Matisse. And all this time, I thought I was channeling Vincent van Gogh! So finally, I read Hillary Spurling's excellent book,"The Unknown Matisse". I was so inspired! I learned that he grew up in a Belgian town that figured out that it would specialize in the production of luxury textiles and rugs, and it was the love of textiles that informed so many of his paintings. So I painted this, in his honor. Oil on panel 14" x 18".

- I recently rented a beach cottage in San Diego, which came equipped with Monopoly, The Surfing Edition. So, one night, friends came over for dinner, and after dinner, we decided we had to play Monopoly. 83 year old Dona, sipping her whiskey, quietly amassed a fortune,and when the game was called sometime after midnight, she was the undisputed winner. So fun!!

- The Bar at The Inn at Sawmill Farm
- This was a commissioned painting. It was 21 1/2" x 25 1/2" in size, and so much fun to do. The Williams family. owners of the Inn, in West Dover, Vemont, allowed me to take over the bar between breakfast and dinner for 2 days in a row, so I could paint this painting on site. At the end of the first day, I had to put little white dots on the floor under the legs of all the barstools and chairs, so I could place them exactly where they were when I returned to finish the painting the next day!

- This was my home for a month in downtown San Diego. I was charmed by the mosaic table which the owners of the condo had collected on a trip to Tunisia.
